This is a conversation I’ve been having with myself as well.
I also think it’s totally normal to oscillate between writing the thing you need to write, seeing the response to that, trying to figure out how to get more money and therefore leaning too heavily into the business side of things, then realizing you’re off track from why you started writing in the first place and leaning back into the artistry. Until we live in a world where everyone’s needs get met and money is no longer necessary, that’s just naturally going to happen.
I’m rooting for you to lean into the art and I can’t wait to see what comes out of it!
